Dandenong Ranges Open Studios

Two Weekends in March 2026

10am-5pm each day.

Saturday 21st - Sunday 22nd

Saturday 28th - Sunday 29th

Elizabeth Gleeson is a painter known for her large scale murals and intricate fine art, distinctly recognisable due to her patterned, contemporary take on a folk-nouveau style.

Working internationally and in Australia, her vibrantly coloured, beautifully detailed works have a timeless quality that evokes a sense of nostalgia, wonder and fascination, appealing to a broad audience.

Elizabeth shares a studio with artist Gerard Russo, on their tree-filled property bordered by a creek. Visitors can contribute to a collaborative mural, view works in progress and take a tour through the lush, new art-themed short-stay accommodation attached to the studio. Visitors can also browse the pop-up shop and gallery to purchase original works and fine art prints and discuss commissioning murals.

My works reflect a deep fascination with intricate patterns and an insatiable passion for the rich, recognisable aesthetics of past art eras and cultures that deeply inspire me.

NEW MURAL ‘Wild Woman’

Live Painting at KnoxFest 2026

A big thank you to Knox City Council for inviting and commissioning me to paint a mural live at the incredible KnoxFest in February this year, which saw tens of thousands of people soak up the sunshine, live music, food and activities throughout the day.

  • Murals are an incredibly cost-effective, long-term advertising tool, making it a clever part of your marketing strategy. What you pay once for a custom mural creation, will pay for itself many times over in sales encouraged by increased brand visibility, customer engagement, and highlighting your own brand values, and as an added bonus, murals have been proven to boost property value as well as staff morale and productivity… your competitors will wonder why they didn’t think of it first.

  • GET IN TOUCH

    YOUR MURAL

This is where the magic unfolds and you see your vision brought to life. There’s nothing quite like watching the mural process in action: from the preparation of the wall surface, to the transfer of design and then the actual painting, you’ll have a whole new appreciation for the creation of large-scale artwork.

Watch the buzz that gets created when your clients, community, students and family know that a mural is starting!

  • From OH&S considerations to knowing the right tools (& paints) for the job to achieving a finished product that is actually what you envisaged, a professional muralist will not only be able to advise you on all the aspects of the project that you weren’t yet aware of, but they’ll be able to manage the entire project from start to finish, eliminating OH&S risks, timeline and cost blowouts, difficulties of working around other contractors, clients and the public, and they will leave you with a polished, professional mural that reflects your original vision, brand and values, and brings you and everyone who sees it joy every day.

You’d get a qualified electrician in to rewire your business or home - it’s no different with a professional muralist.

Brightly coloured mural by Elizabeth Gleeson with floral and abstract patterns on the exterior wall of a school building, with a blue sky overhead and a leafless tree in front.

Bold & bright for Lakes Entrance Primary School

I recently completed this enormous, colourful 73 square metre mural on two walls of a central building at Lakes Entrance Primary School in Victoria, Australia.

The students and teachers love it!!

The brief was to feature native flora & fauna, so using the four animals that represent their school values, I hid their silhouettes amongst the bright flora for the children to explore and discover.

I’d love you to get in touch if you have a project to discuss or a collaboration idea.
